Student Council

St. Nicholas School Student Council aims develop leadership qualities in our students by giving them the opportunity to take part in real life situations of their own choosing. The Council works towards publicising and educating the school community about issues, and then tacking positive action. Student Council Representatives from years 2 to 12 are elected each term by their peers.

The Student Council undertakes environmental and social projects at a local, national and international scale.

Social projects have included the collection of money, food, medicine and clothing for earthquake victims in Peru and flood victims in Southern Brazil. Peace Day and Earth Day projects have highlighted the need to tackle fundamental questions related to sharing the planet. Locally the Student Council gives practical support to groups working with less fortunate members of society.

Environmental projects around the school have highlighted the need for the school to be more sustainable, and the council continues to press for change.
