Letter from Admission's Office
Dear Parents,
Thank you for your interest in St. Nicholas School.
St. Nicholas is a co-educational English speaking international school for pupils from 18 months to 18 years old.
Our students are a mix of Brazilian and many other nationalities, and in a warm and welcoming international environment we embrace cultural diversity and help new families to settle into the community smoothly.
The language of instruction at St Nicholas School is English, and we are authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP), in Nursery to Year 6, and the IB Diploma Programme, in Years 11 and 12. The Key Stages 1 to 3 of the British National Curriculum lead to the IGCSE programme (Years 9 and 10).
The school is also accredited by the Brazil Education Ministry. Portuguese language and literature are taught along with História and Geografia, and students graduate with a Brazilian diploma.
All our students continue their education to university level in Brazil or abroad.
The school has an inclusive philosophy and academic help is available for those students who need either Language or Learning support.
Throughout the curriculum the school offers a vibrant and innovative education which inspires and challenges our students to develop a love of learning. Emphasis is placed on how students learn as well as what they learn, and on educating the child as a whole. As a result, our students have the knowledge, skills and values to cope with a rapidly changing world.
At St. Nicholas School, parents and the school work closely together in order to ensure that our young people are able to be confident, knowledgeable, responsible, caring and capable citizens. Throughout the year we look forward to meeting with parents both formally and informally as we share in the education of our students.
