Action Committee
The Action Committee regularly discusses issues that relate to community service, the environment, health and social education, inspirational leaders and what it means to be a global citizen.
Throughout the school year the Action Committee involves children in more positive experiences by empowering them to make changes that they can feel proud of.
Philosophy
The Action Committee is designed to create a total school environment that intentionally summons people (teachers, students, staff and parents) inside school to realize their relatively boundless potential to take action to change the world around them. Its purpose is to make school life more exciting, satisfying, and enriching experience for everyone involved in the education process.
- The Action Committee is based on 7 assumptions.
- People are able, valuable, and responsible and should be looking at ways to help improve the world around them.
- Education should be a collaborative, cooperative activity.
- People possess untapped potential in all areas of human endeavor.
- Human potential can best be realized by taking action to improve places, policies and processes that are specifically designed to invite development, and by people who are intentionally inviting with themselves and others, personally and professionally.
- The Action Committe encourages independent action.
- The Action Committe coordinate institutional action
- The Action Committee encourages free discussion
